Backstage WWE News On Liv Morgan Getting New Gimmick
The former Riott Squad member is set for a change of character.
Having finally had a match on WWE SmackDown this past week, it looks as if Liv Morgan is now to undergo a character change.
Said match was a losing effort against Charlotte Flair, and that defeat was followed by the New Jersey native having somewhat of a mini breakdown. Grabbing Corey Graves' headset, Morgan proclaimed that maybe Charlotte was right and that she was going to “be real” when she came back – indicating that the 25-year-old was going to be taking a break from WWE action for a spell.
Many had taken this as meaning that Liv may be about to have a change of character, and Dave Meltzer has confirmed that this is indeed the case.
Meltzer claims that plans are afoot for Morgan to be kept off TV for a little while, before then returning with a new appearance and persona. Uncle Dave did not, however, have any further details on just what this new character will be.
Even though her match against Charlotte was a short one, Liv again showed that she has some serious in-ring potential when allowed the spotlight. Despite The Riott Squad being split up back in April as part of the Superstar Shake-Up, the diminutive Morgan has still kept her Riott Squad schtick and entrance music.
Hopefully a new character and direction for the talented Liv Morgan will afford her more opportunities to become a featured part of a SmackDown women’s roster that is crying out for some fresh faces.
