Becky Lynch Vs Asuka Announced For WWE Royal Rumble 2020
Match formalised on Monday's Raw.
Becky Lynch will defend her Raw Women's Championship against Asuka at the 2020 Royal Rumble.
'The Man' used her promo time on the flagship show to confirm that she'd had her challenge to one half of the Women's Tag Champions approved by the company after using her stroke as one of WWE's key stars. Flipping the typical process for title matches, she's taken on the clash to prove to herself she can finally turn back the challenge of 'The Empress Of Tomorrow'.
The two will square on the first show of the year exactly 12 months on from the last time they faced one another in a pay-per-view singles match. On the 2019 edition of the show, then-SmackDown Women's Champion Asuka defeated unassailable future WrestleMania main eventer Lynch before 'The Man' returned later that night to win the Women's Royal Rumble.
Asuka remains one of the few women on the roster to hold such a record over Lynch since her late-2018 charge to the top of the company - a fact that has driven the story and Lynch's challenge for next month's supercard.
