Big Opponents Rumoured For Daniel Bryan At WWE WrestleMania 35
Bryan will be facing a returning star, say sources.
Following his successful Elimination Chamber title defence, we're still none the wiser over who the 'New' Daniel Bryan's opponent will be come WrestleMania 35, with each of the realistic contenders having been handily dispatched in the eponymous match.
According to Dave Meltzer speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE are likewise stumped on their champ's New Jersey direction, and are apparently drawing up a shortlist comprised of talent not in current circulation.
Amongst the names speculated were Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Bray Wyatt. The former two have experienced lengthy layoffs following injuries, whilst Wyatt has been kept on ice ever since his tag partner Matt Hardy was decommissioned last summer. Meltzer noted that Owens is the most likely pick, giving the vignettes he's recently been running seem to directly contradict Daniel Bryan's sanctimonious persona.
Kurt Angle is another proposed title challenger- presumably on the basis of his love for milk.
Somewhat less feasibly, both The Undertaker and Batista were also suggested as making possible comebacks for the Show of Shows, with the former said to already be in talks with the company. Big Dave meanwhile, is understood to have no interest in migrating to AEW.
One man who does look set to miss out is Kofi Kingston, who despite his brilliant performances of late, isn't lined up for a prestige spot at either Fastlane or WrestleMania. Who ever said SmackDown was a meritocracy?
