It looks as if we could be seeing Dragon Lee in NXT imminently.

Via the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the hope is for Lee to "arrive" in NXT next week. While's that not definite at this stage, that is the current expectation.

With Dragon Lee himself announcing at AAA Lucha Libre: Noche de Campeones on 28 December that he had signed with WWE, the original plan was for the 27-year-old to make his NXT debut in early January. When that didn't come to pass, there was speculation that Lee might make a surprise appearance at NXT Vengeance Day last month.

The reason why NXT fans have yet to see Dragon Lee, is because the talent has been dealing with visa issues.

Those issues seem to have now been resolved, and the Observer notes how the current plan is to insert Lee into the burgeoning feud between Shawn Michaels and Grayson Waller. The likeliest outcome right now seems to be for the former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion to be brought in to do battle with Waller at Michaels' behest.

While some speculate that recent happenings on NXT programming are leading to the Heartbreak Kid coming out of retirement to fight the Australian loudmouth, a more realistic option would be for Shawn to instead have a babyface represent him and go up against Waller. In that regard, debuting Dragon Lee in such a way would immediately put him in a significant role on NXT TV.
