Billy Gunn isn't "sour" about missing the recent WWE DX reunion.

With WWE unleashing the iconic group on Monday Night Raw a few weeks ago, AEW's Daddy Ass' absence was notable, with Corey Graves even stating on commentary that "The other guy is doing something with office equipment nowadays."

And news of Gunn reportedly being on the verge of making a sensational one-night-only appearance alongside his fellow D-Generation X buddies before said plans were changed at the last minute led some to believe that Gunn got "ripped off". Or at least, that's how Road Dogg saw it.

Though it was also recently noted how Gunn's appearance was within touching distance for a time, only for WWE to decide late on that they weren't willing to acknowledge AEW on their red show, something Tony Khan saw as a dealbreaker in order to make the showing a reality.

Now, the AEW star has broken his silence on the matter, telling Sports Illustrated that while he "would have liked to have been there", Gunn understands that he works for "another company":

"Of course, I would have liked to have been there, but I understand that I work for another company. It was a collective decision. I’m not putting it on anyone. I’m not sour about it. We’re two separate companies, and it just didn’t work out."

Both companies have actually worked together on a number of occasions recently, as it goes, with AEW lending WWE the likes of Bryan Danielson, Chris Jericho, and Paul "Big Show" Wight for John Cena's 20th anniversary video package, and Le Champion for an episode of Broken Skull Sessions.

On this occasion, though, WWE's resistance in name-dropping their biggest current rival proved too difficult an obstacle to overcome for this particular reunion.
