Bobby Lashley wanted to be taken out of the WWE Title match at Day 1 once he learned that Brock Lesnar was going to be involved.

Lashley told Corey Graves on the WWE-produced 'After The Bell' podcast that he said: "Get me out of this match". The company didn't comply with Bobby's request, and instead kept him in to make the bout a Fatal-5-Way.

Brock went on to snatch the belt from Big E on the pay-per-view; Lesnar was originally supposed to wrestle Roman Reigns for the Universal gold, but Roman's COVID issues meant he had to be pulled from the show last-minute. Apparently, Lashley wanted to join him on the shelf.

Amazingly, some backstage wondered if Bobby was "scared" of Brock. Lashley shut that chatter down straight away, and said he'd agree to be involved if WWE let he and Lesnar work some spots. Initially, the promotion wanted both guys to steer clear of one another, but Bob was having none of that.

He ended up spearing Brock through the safety barricade mid-way through the main event. Then, Brock pinned E to capture the championship.
