Bobby Lashley is your new WWE Intercontinental Champion, having defeated Finn Balor in around 11 minutes on last night's Raw.

It was a relatively uneventful bout until Lio Rush interjected himself towards the end. The hood-clad manager hopped the barricade and appeared in the technical area, ringing the bell to distract the Irishman. The referee asked Rush to leave, but he stayed put. This prompted Balor to try and chase him away, booting the 205 Live wrestler off the apron before springboarding back inside, right into a spectacular mid-air tackle from Lashley. That was enough to secure the 1-2-3 and end Finn's crowd-pleasing reign at a paltry 22 days.

This is Lashley's second run with the white-and-gold belt, having taken the strap from Dean Ambrose at TLC 2018. A 34-day reign followed, with 'The All Mighty' dropping the belt to Balor at last month's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, then regaining it in last night's rematch.

Lashley and Rush had shown signs of tension in 2019, and WWE are putting this over as the manager redeeming himself to his client. It may not prove a popular switch, particularly as Balor's reign was so short, so let's hope WWE have a plan going forward.
