16 months after first appearing on WWE television at NXT TakeOver: Dallas, Bobby Roode has finally arrived on the main roster.

'The Glorious One' made his grand debut on last night's SmackDown Live, interrupting Aiden English while he sang to the audience, with Roode's famous entrance music turning the Brooklyn crowd's mood from disgruntlement to delight.

The audience sang along as Bobby pranced his way down the ramp, before defeating English in his first main roster match. Renee Young arrived for a post-match interview, and after congratulating the SmackDown hierarchy for "breaking the bank for the hottest free agent in sports entertainment today," Roode claimed that SD had "gone from being great, to being absolutely glorious."

Roode was on his 203rd day as NXT Champion when he walked into TakeOver: Brooklyn III on Saturday night, but dropped the belt to Drew McIntyre. He worked as a heel for the entirety of his developmental run, but played a babyface last night. It'll be interesting to see where he goes from here, but if last night's reaction is anything to go by, Roode will be just fine.
