Booking WWE's First Female Royal Rumble Match
It's time for the women to step up.
This past week, an unprecedented five female superstars were added to WWE's main roster. On Raw, Paige made an impactful return alongside NXT graduates Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose. Even more shockingly, the next night's SmackDown Live saw Ruby Riot, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan arrive and decimate the majority of the show's women.
This sudden influx of talented female performers only adds credence to the longstanding rumour that WWE are going to introduce a female Royal Rumble match to go along with January's traditional thirty man contest.
The idea is exciting. There are now twenty full-time women on WWE's main roster, along with a host of up-and-comers in NXT, some amazing participants in this year's Mae Young Classic, and several legends who can still go in the ring. There's never been a better time to introduce an all-female Rumble match (though if it is on the cards, it only makes Emma's release even more baffling).
As I did with a previous article, I thought it would be fun to try and predict the full match from start to finish. That's right. Every entrant. Every elimination. I've aimed for accuracy, though there may be some wishful thinking involved. And I refuse to include Tyler Breeze in drag, though that's exactly the sort of nonsense creative would throw into this historic match.
31. Becky Lynch
For the first ever women's Royal Rumble match, there is only one superstar who should be considered as the first entrant; Becky Lynch. The Irish 'Lass Kicker' is perhaps the most beloved babyface in the company, her entrance always gets a massive pop, and she's the perfect scrappy underdog to start out the match.
