Almost one full year after his last appearance in a WWE ring, the former 'Eater of Worlds' made his presence felt on last night's Raw, destroying Finn Balor after his loss to Samoa Joe.

Balor had gone down to Joe in little over a minute but gained a measure of revenge by hitting him with a shotgun dropkick and Coup de Grace after the bout. The lights then went out, with Wyatt stood in the ring in full 'Fiend' regalia as they came back on, drilling 'The Extraordinary' man with Sister Abigail to a considerable pop. Spotlights swirled and screeches rang through the PA system before the monster disappeared into the darkness once more.

Wyatt's return comes following reports suggesting his first match back will be at SummerSlam on 11 August, with last night's developments pointing towards Balor as his potential opponent.

Recent weeks have seen various puppets from the Firefly Fun House appearing backstage, foreshadowing the comeback without hammering fans over the head with it, making the teases incredibly refreshing for this era of WWE. Here's hoping whatever happens next for Wyatt is as satisfying and unsettling as last night was.
