WWE may have a unique-sounding match stipulation up its sleeve for Royal Rumble 2023, with Bray Wyatt potentially at the heart of it.

The GiveMeSport/WrestleVotes partnership reports that the promotion has already mapped out the entire lineup for its next premium live event. Taking place on 28 January, Royal Rumble 2023 could host something called a "Pitch Black" bout, which is being discussed for the show:-

"The entire card is mapped out for the Rumble event. Last week, we were told about a pitch that was made for a “Pitch Black” match and it was being seriously considered for the show."

Although nothing is confirmed yet (and there's no word on what a "Pitch Black" match actually is), a source has indicated that Wyatt could be involved:-

"The source did not have any more details on the structure/rules of the match but one source in the company believes that the match is for Bray Wyatt."

Bray last competed for WWE at WrestleMania 37 (11 April 2021), where his 'Fiend' character fell to Randy Orton in dismal fashion. He is yet to step back between the ropes since returning to WWE at Extreme Rules 2022 last month, even on the house show circuit, with his current SmackDown rivalry with LA Knight not yet making it to the ring.

Beyond the Knight feud, Wyatt's current WWE storylines have him locked in a psychological battle with an apparent alter ego, Uncle Howdy. The former Fiend's history with supernatural themes could play into the "Pitch Black" stipulation too, should this go ahead.
