Brock Lesnar's WrestleMania 35 Opponent Revealed

...and it's not Drew McIntyre or Braun Strowman.

Brock Lesnar is reportedly set to face current Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 35, according to Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Although fans assumed Brock would face Braun Strowman or Drew McIntyre in New Jersey next year, Meltzer claims that's not the case, saying:-

"Lesnar is right now scheduled to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania. Lesnar vs. Rollins is scheduled to play off Roman Reigns in some fashion, so Reigns' name and illness are scheduled to continue to be in used in storyline going forward."

Although this is a highly-anticipated and no doubt will be an entertaining match, the last time Rollins and Lesnar faced off was Battleground 2015 when The Undertaker made a shocking appearance to kick Lesnar in the balls, many will be disappointed with this outcome for a variety of reasons.

A Lesnar vs. Rollins match would suggest a third defeat to Brock for Braun Strowman at Royal Rumble, the Rollins-Ambrose feud to be concluded prior to WrestleMania (possibly with Dean winning the Intercontinental Championship), Drew McIntyre being overlooked despite his incredible return to the main roster, and most importantly WWE using Roman Reigns' leukaemia as a plot device, something which arguably the majority of the WWE Universe feels uncomfortable about.

Nevertheless, Rollins has been a standout performer for the company in 2018 and merits a match of this magnitude, whilst Lesnar's performance at Survivor Series has reassured us all just how capable he is of producing classics in WWE...when he can be bothered.
