Chris Jericho and Nick Gage brought an almost shocking level of violence to national television last night, working a brutal, bloody AEW Dynamite deathmatch that held nothing back.

Blood was shed in the first few seconds, as Gage sliced Jericho's arm with his trademark pizza cutter. From there, it was on, with light tubes, steel chairs, and a pane of glass all coming into play, quickly reducing both men to pulpy, plasma-sodden messes.

Gage was allowed to be Gage. He wasn't toned down at all, despite TNT's platform, and carved Jericho up with the pizza cutter and broken pieces of light tube. Jericho brought the fight, though, nailing Nick with a top rope Hurricanrana through the pane of glass at one point.

Bundles of fresh light tubes came into it towards the end. One was broken over Jericho's skull, though a mouthful of mist turned the tide for the former AEW World Champion, who nailed the Judas Effect for the win.

Comfortably one of the most brutal matches in AEW history, this was more violent even than the Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley Lights Out match at Full Gear 2019. It was the second in the ongoing Five Labours of Jericho series set up by MJF a few weeks ago.
