Charlotte Flair thinks she'll just have to "re-write history" if she's going to be a successful babyface in 2023.

The reigning SmackDown Women's Champion told Busted Open Radio that she'll also have to "pretend I didn’t have this and I’m just happy to be here". By "this", Flair presumably means countless title reigns on NXT, Raw and SmackDown over the years.

Fan responses have been tepid since Charlotte returned on the 30 December 2022 episode of SmackDown and won the belt from ex-champ Ronda Rousey. She's currently locked in a mini-feud with Sonya Deville on Friday nights, and the pair will collide on next week's SmackDown post-Royal Rumble.

Then, it'll be onto bigger things during WrestleMania season for Flair.

Charlotte previously said she didn't really enjoy being babyface during an extensive interview with Steve Austin last year. That didn't come as a huge surprise to anybody who has watched her career to date - it's clear that Flair is way more comfortable being heel.

The reborn face is "really focused" on how she approaches promos, because she wants to avoid coming across as entitled or bratty.
