Former WWE interviewer Charly Caruso has told TV Insider that recent reports about backstage heat are wrong.

Caruso said that she "never had any issues" during her four-year stint with the company. In fact, she made several good friends that she'll stay in touch with after leaving for a job with ESPN; Charly named Nia Jax as an example of somebody she's still very close with.

The internet blew up when reports leaked about Caruso turning up late for interview segments with the likes of Randy Orton and Sheamus on Raw. According to Charly, those are wide of the mark. She said "nothing bad happened" during her WWE career.

Interesting.

Caruso's contract was coming up for renewal, but she decided not to sign an extension. The cheerful host views her WWE departure as a positive step, and added that everyone in the organisation already knew how passionate she was about the ESPN gig.

There's no ill will from Caruso to WWE, or vice versa, but she understands that there is "always going to be chatter" online when someone leaves the promotion.

That's just part and parcel of the pro wrestling industry.
