Chris Jericho's certainly an ambitious fellow. When he's not holding back the sands of time with constant character reinvention, simultaneously going through a mid-life crisis by touring as a 40-something rock star, or taking the helm as captain of his own wrestling cruise ship, he's coming up with ground-breaking, industry-shaking concepts.

Such as this doozy. On the most recent episode of his 'Talk is Jericho' podcast, Y2J revealed that he recently pitched an idea to "certain head of a certain wrestling company" to stage an IWGP Intercontinental Title vs. WWE Intercontinental Title match between himself and then champ Seth Rollins at the upcoming SummerSlam PPV.

The match - which Jericho uncooly pitched to Vi... ahem, this 'executive', as "boffo box office" - would have ended in a disqualification in Rollins' favour. Jericho also suggested flying in for Monday's go-home Raw, but after initially garnering some intrigue, he never heard anything back on the plan.

Jericho's claims are certainly intriguing. His willingness - and availability - to participate in Brooklyn this weekend has some clear implications for at least one big match involving a former buddy and a Money in the Bank contract. We're not saying anything will happen, just that, you know, it could. Given the company turned their noses up at an enormous inter-promotional opportunity, mind, we're not holding our collective breath.
