Chris Jericho has confirmed that his final WWE date will be September 21st in Nashville, which will be the Night Of Champions special event. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter states that Jericho usually keeps his comings and going a secret, so it's a bit of a surprise to hear him admitting his current run is nearly through. He plans to spend more time focusing on his rock band Fozzy, beginning a tour just a few days after his WWE deal finishes. Jericho only returned to the company on June 30th. His reason for returning was the promise of a major feud with Bray Wyatt, which should have led to some dynamic promos and exciting matches. Unfortunately the storyline lost steam and the two had somewhat of a forgettable match at July's Battleground. They'll battle again at SummerSlam, and presumably Night Of Champions, but it has turned into just another match on the card. In fact, at SummerSlam, there's at least three main events bigger than Jericho vs Wyatt (Stephanie Vs Brie, Cena Vs Lesnar, Orton vs Reigns have all been WWE's main focus). Jericho is bound to be disappointed by the underwhelming reality of the once promising storyline. He stated earlier this year that he only wanted to return for something major, which Bray Wyatt should have been, but the way things have transpired it just hasn't proved the case. A big problem was that Jericho won clean in the first match at Battleground. It extended the reason for a series of matches, but it also extinguished much of the creative fuel behind the story. Bray was beaten, Jericho was victorious. Hopefully they can reignite their story with a show stealing performance at SummerSlam, allowing Jericho to leave with a more interesting final match at Night Of Champions.
