CM Punk Appears At WWE NXT Deadline
CM Punk appears at Deadline and teases signing with NXT.
Having initially promised to phone Shawn Michaels over the weekend, then teased an appearance at the event, CM Punk turned up at NXT Deadline last night.
As part of the ongoing story of which brand the Second City Saint will formally sign with, Punk appeared at Bridgeport, Connecticut's Total Mortgage Arena to share the ring with Shawn Michaels.
While it seemed as if Punk and the Heartbreak Kid may have forgotten some of what they meant to say, the general crux was the Chicagoan offering up the idea of him potentially signing with NXT. Of course, the Straight-Edge Superstar is due to appear on tomorrow's WWE Raw and make it known whether he'll be signing with Raw, SmackDown, or NXT.
Clearly, chances are slim that CM Punk actually does somehow wind up being a part of WWE's developmental arm, but his presence at Deadline at least made for a fun segment. There, Punk - decked out in a Bret Hart hoodie - took an in-ring selfie with Michaels, dropping in how Shawn and Bret have buried the hatchet, much like he and Triple H nowadays have.
As per Haus of Wrestling, CM Punk was at the Total Mortgage Arena for most of the day and was described as being "great around everyone". Triple H was another who was in attendance for the show, with the interactions between Punk and the Game said to be "legit" very good as the two-time AEW World Champion continues to ride the positive wave he's been on since returning to WWE at the Survivor Series last month.
In other Deadline news, Cora Jade made her NXT return following the women's Iron Survivor bout. And via WWE Digital, Jade - a long-standing CM Punk fan - got to share a rather fantastic moment with Punker backstage.
