CM Punk returned on last night's WWE Raw! Sort of.

'The Voice Of The Voiceless' revealed that he'd been backstage at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, and having watched the show, couldn't resist addressing the crowd.

Joining Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso in the ring as they sent the fans home happy with the typical post-show rah-rah speech, Punk was brought out as a surprise by 'The American Nightmare' and 'Main Event'. After embracing them both, he said;

"It is not easy sitting backstage watching the show knowing that Anaheim is 11,000 strong and y'all have been hot all night long. Three hours. Countless superstars. Awesome matches. I had to come out and feel this myself, and to let you all know that this is a bump in the road. I promise you the next time we're in Anaheim I will be here and I will have my boots on."

Punk is recovering from a torn triceps injury suffered in the Royal Rumble match - his first since returning to the company at November's Survivor Series. He has said he intends to stay "in the mix" despite the setback, with Drew McIntyre currently building much of his gimmick around taking Punk out ahead of a presumed comeback programme.
