Cody Reveals Divisive New Tattoo At AEW Revolution
This really took some getting used to...
In a strange news item that nevertheless proved so distracting that Twitter was less concerned over a manifest blood feud and instead on a very glaring ink-job, Cody sported a different look for his match with MJF at Revolution.
A gigantic Nightmare Family symbol drawn all over the right side of his neck, it took some getting used to, particularly since one, touching, understated tat on his chest aside, Cody usually opts for the clean-cut classic babyface look. People did not react well to it. He was effectively scolded in most quarters, as if we were all disappointed parents.
Within a storm of mystification, one Brian Pillman, Jr. stuck up for Cody, and what a worker. This might see him get a job one day:
"Simple. He's wearing it on his neck so it's always visible, can't be covered up easily. It's symbolic of him going "all-in" on his brand and his company and not having a backup plan. It means he's literally got his neck on the line for AEW and his family. SKIN IN THE GAME!!!"
This doesn't not make sense, and we'll all get used to it eventually, but the timing of the reveal wasn't ideal.
