Cody has promised to never challenge for the AEW Championship again if he loses to Chris Jericho at this Saturday's Full Gear pay-per-view.

He revealed the stakes during an impassioned promo on last night's Dynamite, referencing several prior wrestlers that also served as authority figures behind the scenes over the years and the conflicts it often cause.

Fighting back the crocodile tears as he often does, Cody had the Charlotte, North Carolina crowd going insane for his every sentiment, not least when referred to AEW as "Ellis Island for a professional wrestler" in yet another pop-thirsty shot at the opposition. From there, he went up the (Full?) gears, reminding Jericho that they shared a more similar upbringing than they 'LeChampion' cared to admit.

Turning his fire directly on how Jericho was a "carny succubus" amongst the youngster populating AEW's roster, Cody dug for gold and found platinum, finding yet more motivation for the blockbuster Championship main event. He also called him a d*ck because it may have escaped your attention that the wrestlers are allowed to swear on TNT.

All snark aside for Cody crossing off most of his promo bingo card, the live audience were absolutely electrified by the speech and this was perfect go-home show content ahead of one of the most important headliners in the company's short history. A must-see for that alone, at very least.
