Cool Stat On AJ Styles' WWE Intercontinental Title Win
Winning the IC Title first is so overrated, apparently...
Fancy a cool statistic about AJ Styles' Intercontinental Title win?
Not only has the new champ won every single one of his WWE belts in singles matches, but AJ has also joined some famous company after winning the IC Title on SmackDown.
Much like Roman Reigns, Big Show, JBL and Seth Rollins before him, Styles bagged the Intercontinental Title after first winning the WWE Championship. Most longtime fans regard the IC belt as a 'stepping stone' towards the bigger prizes, but AJ and pals did things the other way around.
Styles became a two-time WWE Champion before even challenging for the Intercontinental gold, and he also enjoyed three reigns as United States Champ too. Now, a workhorse has the strap most fans closely associate with workers of his calibre.
It's also interesting that AJ has only won titles in one-on-one bouts too. WWE run a ton of multi-man matches these days, and they enjoy using Triple Threats or Fatal-4-Ways as an easy way to protect outgoing champs. They've never done that with Styles - he's a rarity in modern-day circles.
Fingers crossed the rest of his IC reign is as good as that match with Daniel Bryan on SmackDown.
