Cult WWE Stable Reunites!
WWE Attitude Era favourites come back together on the independent circuit.
Matt and Jeff Hardy reunited with Gangrel over the weekend, putting The New Brood back together for independent group Big Time Wrestling.
This went down at BTW's Saturday 14 May event in Prince George, Virginia. The Hardys faced off against Gangrel and Joey Janela, who were dubbed The New, New Brood, before popping nostalgia with a post-match photograph with the old WWE ally afterwards.
Photographer Jonathan McLarty snaps, one of which Matt Hardy has since reposted:-

Matt, Jeff, and Gangrel were together for a couple of months during WWE's Attitude Era. Having dispensed with Michael Hayes' services as manager, The Hardy Boyz joined forces with the vampiric Gangrel, replacing the outgoing Edge and Christian (kayfabe-wise) for a run that stretched only from August 1999 to that October.
This is the latest in a recent string of Brood-related nostalgia within pro wrestling. Much of this comes from Edge, who brought back his old Brood-isms (including the cult favourite theme song) at SummerSlam 2021, having bathed Seth Rollins in a fluid intended to resemble blood in the build towards that event.
Today, Edge's new stable, The Judgment Day, operates from a similar gothic playbook.
