Commentator Corey Graves had some strong criticism for Dana Brooke on this week's episode of WWE Raw, saying the following of the former NXT wrestler as she kicked off a squash loss to Shayna Baszler on the front foot:-

"I'm all for giving people time to develop, time to realise their potential, but on a long enough timeline, you gotta cut your losses... you can give me a chest full of tools, that doesn't mean I can build you a house, okay? It's a matter of putting things together and Dana Brooke, in my opinion, hasn't exactly done that."

Brooke, whose defeat to Baszler took only 80 seconds, has now posted what looks like a response, doing so via her Instagram story:-

“You CANNOT entertain everything regardless if its INDIRECT or DIRECT!! Let people do what they do best. TALK!! Y’all act like y’all gone die because somebody said something about you. IT IS NOT THAT DEEP!! You cannot stop and throw stones at every dog that barks. ONCE you entertain a clown, you BECOME ONE [waving emoji] YOU THE CLOWN [clown emoji] I’M THE QUEEN [queen emoji] I KEEP PUSHING THRO! WATCH ME WORK”

Graves' comments went down on night two of the 2021 WWE Draft, during which it was determined Brooke would remain on Raw. He was likely working when he criticised Dana, as a heel announcer playing down the possibility of his brand drafting somebody with a less-than-stellar record when more successful options were still on the board is believable. Nonetheless, Brooke's response was pointed.

Dana has been with WWE since signing a developmental contract in 2013. She graduated to the main roster as Emma's partner in 2016 and soon progressed to an alliance with Charlotte Flair. Most recently, she was part of a Raw tag team with Mandy Rose before her partner was moved back to NXT.

This week's Raw was Brooke's first match on the brand since 28 June.
