WWE just dropped quite the hint about the potential Royal Rumble return of The Rock.

With The Great One currently sitting as the third favourite to win the entire men's version of the titular over-the-top-rope contest, with only Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes having better odds at this stage, the concept of Rocky showing up on January 28 to kick-start a feud with his cousin Roman Reigns still appears to be a very real possibility at this point.

And while the company haven't exactly outright confirmed The Rock's involvement with the event at time of writing, they have offered a cheeky little hint at an "electrifying" comeback during the first WWE PLE of the year.

Said suggestion of a Rocky Rumble comes in the form of a recent poster unleashed by BT Sport on Twitter. Along with the promotional material showing off a whole host of WWE Superstars, including The Tribal Chief, both the bolts of electricity shooting across the top of the image and BT Sport's caption of "The official #RoyalRumble poster is electrifying" seem to suggest that this year's Rumble could also boast The Rock's first in-ring showing since WrestleMania 32.

Again, at this stage, "the ball is in The Rock's court", according to a recent report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via WrestlingInc). And while any plans for the upcoming WrestleMania 39 PLE are "not set in stone", you can guarantee WWE will be doing everything in their power to make a Reigns vs. Rock main event a reality at the incoming Show of Shows.
