According to police, Nemeth shot and killed 34-year-old former U.S. Marine Joseph Mascol on January 23 at Cleveland's University Hotel and Suites in an attempted robbery. Mascol was found in the hotel's seventh-floor hallway and pronounced dead on the scene.

Hotel security camera pictures of Nemeth and another man were first released in February, but it wasn't until this past week that police gained enough information for a warrant, which was issued on Tuesday. The second man in the security images has not yet been identified.

Cleveland Scene Weekly has confirmed that Donald Nemeth is indeed Ziggler's brother. Public records obtained by the publication connect both Nick and Donald to the same address in recent years. Furthermore, a January Twitter post from Ziggler's other brother, 31-year-old Ryan Nemeth (who wrestled in Florida Championship Wrestling and NXT as Briley Pierce), identifies Donald as his and Nick's brother.
