Dominik and father Rey recently speak with ESPN's Michael Wonsover on the matter. It was revealed that they'd discussed Dominik competing as "Prince Mysterio" going forward, though this likely won't happen until he is further down the line with his training. The younger Mysterio has already had gear designed for this persona, though he won't be unveiling it as SummerSlam, instead holding off until a later date.

On top of this, Dominik revealed that he wants to start wearing a mask at some point in his career, saying "it's important to keep that tradition going," though they'd have to come up with a creative way to introduce it as his face has already been shown.

"He definitely has to continue with that Mysterio dynasty, it's in his genes," said Rey. "We're going to incorporate that eventually and create a good story so the fans can understand the rich history behind lucha libre and the masks."

In a different interview, Rollins revealed the handpicked Dominik as his SummerSlam opponent, saying he "didn't even think twice about it."
