NBC are set to produce a new straight-to-series comedy called 'Young Rock', starring the most electrifying man in all of entertainment, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson... in a show based on his upbringing.

Coming from former 'Fresh Off the Boat' showrunner Nahnatchka Khan, the single-camera comedy will take us on a journey through The Rock's younger days growing up with a family of wrestlers and eventually becoming the megastar he is today.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that 'The Great One' will be appearing in all eleven episodes of the series playing himself. So, this new project looks to be filling the whole in his life which the recently tied-up TV series Ballers must have left.

On top of this exciting new adventure, Johnson will also be returning as the host for the second series of NBC's Titan Games, which involves people from across America taking on extremely physical and mental challenges in the aim of becoming a 'Titan'.

The Rock will next be seen on the big screen with Disney's summer action/comedy Jungle Cruise, based on the famous theme park ride, which docks in July, co-starring Emily Blunt and Paul Giamatti.
