Edge Wins First WWE Singles Match In Nine Years At WrestleMania 36
Sweet emotion and sweet storyline revenge for the 'Rated-R Superstar'.
Edge won his first WWE match in nine years by beating Randy Orton in an epic 'Last Man Standing' match during night two of WrestleMania 36.
The old partners-turned-rivals brawled extensively throughout the confines of WWE's Performance Center - leaving no stone unturned, Orton and Edge provided fans with enough thrills and spills to last another decade. The 'Rated-R Superstar' drove Randy through a table with a massive diving elbow, and ended the bout with a revenge Con-Chair-To.
That doesn't even begin to describe what these guys put themselves through.
The emotion literally poured from Edge as he contemplated the match-ending chair smash. He shed tears, and both guys shed blood earlier too. Orton, in particular, suffered a nasty gash on his shoulder from one of the many, many painfully stiff strikes and bumps.
If this is a sign of things to come from Edge's part-time schedule going forwards, then everyone is in for a serious treat. The Canadian hero looked in tip-top shape physically, and the facial expression he brought to the occasion should act as a lesson for everyone else on the roster.
It was a world class return to singles action.
