Eric Bischoff "No Influence" On WWE SmackDown Creative?
New blue brand "Executive Director" NOT to work on storylines?
Eric Bischoff may not have anything to do with SmackDown Live's creative process, despite initial assumptions made as result of his and Paul Heyman's recent rehirings on the respective brands.
In his most recent Wrestling Observer, Dave Meltzer noted that 'Easy E' wasn't at what should have been his first SmackDown taping, and existing creative staff were informed that he probably wouldn't be impacting their lives as much as initially suspected.
Meltzer said; "Bischoff was not at Raw or Smackdown this week. He actually started at work on 7/17. He ended up having no influence on Smackdown this past week and right now those in creative were told that he will most likely not be involved with the creative process and that it looks like his job will be to interface with all of the departments in the company as well as with FOX. However he is to be the leader of the Smackdown side of things, which currently has no leadership, just Ryan Ward and others pitching ideas to Vince."
Raw Executive Director Paul Heyman has taken an active engagement in the direction of the red brand since starting officially in the role on the same day as Bischoff, even noting on air with tongue placed in-cheek that he had "stroke" during this week's edition of the broadcast.
