Shinsuke Nakamura had just defeated TJ Perkins in a match taped for the March 22nd episode, but he didn't have long to celebrate. He motioned for the NXT Championship after the bell rang, drawing champion Bobby Roode out from the back, and leaving him open to an ambush by Andrade "Cien" Almas.

Almas and Roode double-teamed the King of Strong Style until Balor emerged to a huge pop, and after dumping Almas out the ring, Balor took Roode out then let Nakamura finish him off with the Kinshasa.

Balor cut a promo afterwards, stating that he'll soon be back to reclaim what's his (the Universal Title, presumably), but added that he hadn't been medically clear to wrestle yet. The segment closed with Balor and Nakamura celebrating together, but won't air on NXT, and will remain a dark angle.

Balor has been out of action since injuring his shoulder in August, and recently appeared during WWE's UK Title Tournament. While he concedes that he still hasn't been cleared, this segment's physicality indicates that his full return might not be far away.
