As personally revealed by Tony Khan on Twitter, a former talent who left the company in May 2022 is scheduled to make his return.

Stu Grayson, formerly of the Dark Order, is set to reunite with ex-stablemate Evil Uno (alongside whom he teamed for years in the Super Smash Bros.) and Dark Order associate Hangman Page to take on the Blackpool Combat Club triumvirate of Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler YUTA. The trios match takes place on next week's Dynamite, which emanates from Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada - which itself may explain Grayson's appearance. He is a native of and resides in Canada; this cameo may result from logistics as much as sentimentality.

There is currently no word on whether this is indeed a one-and-done cameo, or if both parties have struck a deal.

Grayson initially left All Elite Wrestling in May 2022 when his contract expired and terms for a new deal could not be met. The explosive and super-talented wrestler, who wowed fans with his propulsive high spots even when the stable was in its phase of not being remotely over, conducted an interview with Slam Wrestling in August. He cited a lack of opportunities to impress as the motivating factor behind his decision (h/t 411Mania):

"It's very hard to show the world how good you are in such a limited amount of time. I would trade in 100 dark matches for 15 minutes on television. I never wanted to get paid to do nothing. I'd rather make less money and be useful than being useless and make a ton of money. That's not how I am. I need to be challenged."
