Former WWE Tag Champ Arrested Last Night
Second-generation superstar cuffed in Memphis, TN.
Brian Lawler, son of legendary Memphis grappler and long-time WWE colour commentator Jerry Lawler, was arrested last night after a dispute at a hotel in Downtown Memphis, TN.
Lawler, who won the WWE Tag Team titles whilst competing for the company as 'Grand Master Sexay', was busted at the Hampton Inn on 175 Peabody Place after the hotelier claimed the former wrestler and buddy Terry Teague refused to pay for their room.
The two allegedly checked into the hotel using a company credit card, which later transpired to be short on funds. The bill they refused to foot totaled $802.38.
Police were called to the site, where the pair were charged with theft of services less than $1000.
Lawler, 46, was released last night on a $250 bond, whilst Teague's was set at $1000. The two are scheduled to appear in court today.
This isn't Lawler's first run in with the law. The second-generation superstar hit headlines back in 2009 when he was arrested for disorderly conduct, and in June of the same year, he was again cuffed, this time for public intoxication. Lawler was subsequently jailed for 30 days after failing to attend rehab as part of his plea bargain.
