Gran Metalik reportedly refused to put over Komander on AEW Rampage recently.

That's according to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter as Dave Meltzer noted how the October 27 edition of the Friday night show only had three matches instead of four due to the luchador not wanting to lose to his fellow masked performer.

However, Fightful Select have reported addition details regarding this Rampage situation, stating that AEW had originally only planned for three matches that night. But one of these contests would have very much contained Metalik and Komander, with those stars being chucked into a four-way alongside Lince Dorado and Penta El Zero Miedo.

That bout was then changed to a three-way - due to Dorado not being able to work with AAA talent because of his connections with CMLL and that promotion not allowing their stars to wrestle AAA workers - and Komander would have gone over Metalik in this contest.

After not picking up a victory on Tony Khan's shows since September, though, the one-time WWE star, a.k.a. Mascara Dorada, decided he didn't want to take another 'L' whilst not on a full-time AEW deal.

And that's why AEW, understanding Metalik's position, decided to book Kyle Fletcher vs. Konosuke Takeshita as a replacement.

It's worth noting that Metalik would then go on to appear in a match on November 2's ROH after all of this, but it'll be interesting to see what the future holds for the 'King of the Ropes' in TK's world going forward.
