GLOW: First Look At Alison Brie In Netflix's Ladies Wrestling Series
The Community star glows in the first images from the upcoming series.
The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling have finally been revealed.
Alison Brie stars in the upcoming Netflix series, which is inspired by the real-life promotion G.L.O.W. from the 1980s, and now we've got the first images (via EW) of her stepping into the ring. There are seven new images in total, including Brie getting slapped around the squared circle, all of which can be seen in this teaser from the show's Twitter account:

The series will follow Brie's character Ruth Wilder, a struggling actress living in Los Angeles, who finds a last chance at stardom in the world of women's wrestling. There she'll compete with 12 other misfits, wannabes, and has-beens, including washed-up soap star Debbie Eagen (Betty Gilpin), all managed by B-movie director Sam Sylvia (Marc Maron).
The original Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling started in Las Vegas back in 1986, and featured a host of actors, dancers, models, and stuntwomen all trying to break into showbiz.
The half-hour comedy-drama will follow a similar path, with colourful characters and over-the-top humour, and comes from many of the creative minds behind Orange is the New Black (including that series' creator Jenji Kohan, who executive produces here) and Homeland's Liz Flahive.
GLOW will be available on Netflix from June 23.
