Grim Tidings For Tony Khan's ROH Relaunch
Things are not boding well for the beloved promotion's return to pay-per-view.
Tony Khan has been put in quite the uncomfortable situation with the upcoming Supercard of Honor PPV.
The show, which had been set prior to Khan’s purchasing of the promotion, will be competing head-to-head with AEW Rampage, as well as the SmackDown before WrestleMania weekend.
Impact, NJPW, and GCW are also running their own shows in the area, further muddying the waters for the returning ROH.
According to a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Khan is well aware of the situation and is taking steps to ensure the show is not overlooked entirely.
“Tony Khan on Busted Open radio said that the 4/1 ROH PPV will be a transition show and that AEW wrestlers will be appearing on it. He said they already had the date announced and sold tickets for it before the sale, even though the idea of running on such a ridiculously busy wrestling night in the Dallas market wouldn’t have been his choice.”
While it’s unfortunate Khan is in such a disadvantageous position, his commitment to ROH fans who've already purchased tickets for the event is commendable.
Hopefully renewed interest in ROH and inclusion of AEW talent on the card will help draw in views.
