The WWE wrestlers that Fightful Select spoke to about Ruby Soho's AEW debut were "over the moon" with how things went down for the former Riott Squad member at All Out 2021, where she made her first appearance as part of the Casino Battle Royale.
Soho was the Joker in the 21-person match guaranteeing a future Women's World Title shot for the victor. Entering, appropriately, to Rancid's Ruby Soho (from which she takes her new ring name), the 30-year-old outlasted everybody left in the match, eliminating Thunder Rosa last to punch her ticket for a match with Britt Baker.
How much the moment appeared to mean to her was one of the reasons Ruby's former roster-mates were so happy. Indeed, Soho appeared to be on the verge of being overcome with emotion as the crowd sung her name, and she emerged to a chorus of cheers.
The report also offers some details on how Ruby's AEW deal came together, noting that Tony Khan's promotion were immediately interested in signing her from the moment she was released by WWE on 2 June. Other groups were interested too, including independent companies, but some were informed, at the time, that Ruby wasn't taking bookings. This led to assumptions that she was likely on her way to AEW.
Soho has been announced for this week's episode of Dynamite, though it is unclear if she'll be wrestling or not.
