As confirmed on WWE.com over the weekend, Rey Mysterio and Andrade 'Cien' Almas will go one-on-one on this week's episode of SmackDown Live.

The booking comes on the back of last week's acclaimed all-star tag team match pitting Almas and Samoa Joe against Mysterio and Mustafa Ali. 'Cien' bettered his legendary foe that night, countering the 619 into a Gutbuster before pinning Rey with the Hammerlock DDT, gaining a measure of revenge for his 6 November loss to the former World Heavyweight Champion.

Expectations will be high. Though his main roster push has been wobbly, Almas is one of the best wrestlers in the world on his day, while Rey has aged gracefully and become a great upper-midcard veteran hand. If given time, they could steal the show on Tuesday night.

Their previous singles bout went just eight minutes, with Mysterio's victory ensuring his place on SmackDown's men's Survivor Series team. This week's match looks like little more than a Royal Rumble heat-up bout, but depending on how it turns out, perhaps we could see a bigger, more meaningful pay-per-view bout between these two somewhere later down the line.
