HUGE Intergender Match Set For WWE Extreme Rules 2019?
Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins could star in this mixed tag...
Baron Corbin's hand-picked referee stipulation led to all kinds of speculation heading into WWE Stomping Grounds, with various McMahons and Brock Lesnar tipped to be the person in black and white. Instead, the company took a sharp left turn with Lacey Evans, who was as bent as a politician throughout, allowing Corbin all kinds of transgressions as he attempted to cheat his way to the Universal Title.
Evans' appointment played into the finish. Her current rival, Becky Lynch, stormed down to the ring, willing the crowd out of their slumber by taking Lacey out of the game, and allowing Seth Rollins to take the victory with John Cone as the new official.
Now, as pointed about by Cageside Seats, there's heavy speculation that this will lead to Rollins and Lynch facing Corbin and Evans in an intergender tag team match at Extreme Rules (14 July) - with the Universal and Raw Women's Championships on the line.
2019 has seen WWE dabble with intergender wrestling by having Nia Jax enter the men's Royal Rumble, before setting up (and promptly abandoning) a programme between her and Dean Ambrose. Similarly, the Mixed Match Challenge brought the men and women's divisions together in 2017 and 2018, though this would be a different level.
