Huge Title Change On AEW Dynamite!
An eventful night in Rochester, New York concludes with one of AEW's biggest titles changing hands.
Congratulations to Sammy Guevara, who captured his first piece of AEW gold on last night's episode of Dynamite.
Guevara bested TNT Champion Miro in the night's only title match. Forced to work from beneath due to Miro's brutish, domineering style for much of the main event, Guevara kept targeting the bigger man's head, forcing him skull-first into the ring post several times.
He eventually capitalised on Miro becoming too focused with ripping the turnbuckle pads away to score the win. Fuego Del Sol, a familiar opponent of Miro's and Sammy's best friend, stopped the now-former TNT Champion from baring the last 'buckle. Guevara used that window to dropkick Miro into it, then hit the GTH, a 630 senton, and the 1, 2, 3.
Miro's successful TNT Title reign stretched for 140 days, encompassing the initial win over Darby Allin on 12 May and successful defences against Lance Archer, Eddie Kingston, Evil Uno, and more. Guevara, meanwhile, is a day-one AEW wrestler and a first-time champion.
Bobby Fish has already been confirmed as Guevara's first challenger, with Sammy accepting the former WWE NXT wrestler's Twitter challenge during last night's episode of Rhodes To The Top. That match takes place on next week's Dynamite.
