Huge WWE Backstage Heat On Big Cass?
The seven-footer went off-script on last week's SmackDown.
Big Cass only returned to WWE programming following an eight-month injury layoff three weeks ago, but the seven-footer is already in hot water with company officials.
This is according to Pro Wrestling Sheet, who claim Cass went against direct instructions during an in-ring segment last week (May 1st), delivering an unauthorised beatdown to a Daniel Bryan impersonator.
Cass was reportedly told to leave the ring after hitting the performer with a big boot. He asked producers if he could continue the assault beyond the first strike, and went directly to Vince McMahon when told "no," but the Chairman shot him down as well. Instead of following this directive, Cass unleashed a flurry of mounted punches on his miniature representation of Daniel Bryan.
WWE didn't include the punches in the show's photo gallery, and omitted the rest of the beatdown from their YouTube upload:-
Cass lost to Bryan at Backlash a few days later, and wasn't used as this week's TV tapings. There's no word on whether or not this was punishment, but PW Sheet claim WWE were "very unhappy" with his actions, though these booking decisions may have been part of their plans regardless.
