IMPACT Wrestling Has MAJOR Plans For Its X-Division
Look for IMPACT Wrestling's X-Division to get a HUGE boost over the coming months.
Is IMPACT Wrestling about to bring back the X-Division's glory days, when the likes of Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, and Christopher Daniels helped build the hyper-athletic scene into one of TNA's most valuable selling points?
A new report from PWInsider's Mike Johnson states that at the very least, the X-Division is about to get a big boost in importance.
This began with last night's 60-minute Iron Man match between champion Josh Alexander and TJP. The idea of this bout was to elevate the belt and division in a major way, kickstarting what could be a lengthy process.
One of Johnson's sources compared the situation to Rob Van Dam's run as ECW Television Champion, which saw the "secondary" strap elevated to the World Title's level across an epic 700-day reign.
Alexander bested TJP in a match that is already drawing rave reviews from the audience, the bulk of it airing on Before the IMPACT, with the final few minutes playing out on IMPACT! itself. The Canadian has now been champion since taking the X-Division Title from Ace Austin in a three-way match also featuring TJP at Rebellion 2021 on 25 April.
