Impact Wrestling may only be three months removed from their last major reshuffling, during which Don Callis and Scott D'Amore were appointed executive vice presidents, but the company may be set for another takeover.

According to Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dorian Roldan (who runs Mexico's AAA promotion) has told several people that he's looking to buy Impact. No specifics are mentioned, and Meltzer notes that he doesn't know whether Roldan is serious or not, but it's an interesting story regardless.

AAA and Impact's existing business relationship has brought luchadors like El Hijo del Fantasma (Lucha Underground's King Cuerno) and Garza Jr. to America. It's unlikely that Roldan would drop his AAA duties for Impact, so if he were to takeover, we'd almost certainly see an extension of this agreement.

Impact's last takeover came in November 2016, when Anthem Sports & Entertainment ended the Carter family's long spell as majority shareholders. The promotion has gone through a number of major rebrandings since then, having operated as Global Force Wrestling for part of 2017, before reverting to Impact.

Is their tumultuous history set for another major twist? It's up in the air at the moment, but if Roldan's interest is genuine, we can expect another shake-up.
