Speaking at the Orlando WrestleMania 33 press conference, he said; For the first time in a decade and a half, this year I will be watching and not wrestling at WrestleMania." It was always expected that he'd struggle to make it back for the April 3 event, with the severity of his shoulder injury usually requiring a six to nine month lay off. Even SummerSlam is a doubt. However, on his social media, he had been pushing the fact that his recovery was going well. He wasn't ruling out the possibility of a match at Mania 32, and in the past he has proved capable of quick comebacks from injury. Not this time. He's admitted he won't be working the event, but added that he's determined to be back for next year's showcase. He mentioned how it meant the world to him to see the excitement of kids at Mania, and said he gets a kick from hearing the adults in the crowd telling him he sucked. And you could tell he really meant it, he's a man who genuinely loves wrestling for WWE. It is a massive shame that he won't be at this year's event, where he had originally been scheduled to wrestle The Undertaker. That match is now likely as a main event for Mania 33. Also at the Orlando press conference was Roman Reigns. He put over how Florida is his home. That's probably an early indication of how WWE will present the WWE Title main event next year, with Reigns cast as the hometown hero.
