John Cena Possibly Wrestling Dean Ambrose At Hell In A Cell

Interesting info on the possible main event of Hell in a Cell.

The main event of WWE's Hell in a Cell PPV is a big question mark at this point with reports that WWE Champion Brock Lesnar isn't going to be wrestling on the card. When Lesnar won the WWE Title, we knew that he wouldn't be wrestling on every PPV although there have been reports that said he would wrestle a bit more often. Most likely he's skipping Hell in a Cell and he could return for Survivor Series in November, which is seen as more of a major show. With Lesnar out of the mix, what will WWE do at Hell in a Cell on October 26? According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com on his latest radio show, there's a plan involving John Cena, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Randy Orton. The lineup would see the two babyfaces Cena and Ambrose wrestling in the opening match on the show. The winner of that match would face the heel Seth Rollins in the main event of the show in a Hell in a Cell match. Meanwhile, Randy Orton would face the loser of the match. In other words, Cena and Ambrose would be competing for the right to get their hands on Rollins inside the Hell in a Cell setting where he can't run away from them. As Meltzer noted, nothing is finalized and plans can change, but that's one of the plans they have in mind. It would be interesting if WWE formatted the show that way because then they would be able to get three matches out of these four guys. It's just a little weird that two guys are going to have a match for the right to have another match against a guy in the cell. We know they want to get their hands on Rollins, but is that really enough of a storyline to sell fans on a PPV main event? Perhaps Rollins would have to put his Money in the Bank briefcase on the line too although normally MITB case holders don't defend the briefcase. It's not a title after all. This past Monday prior to Raw, WWE sent out advertising on their social media and website saying that Orton would face Ambrose about three hours before the show. Instead, they changed it to Cena vs. Orton and Ambrose vs. Kane. Perhaps they changed it because Ambrose is going to lose to Cena, which would lead to the match with Orton at the Hell in a Cell PPV assuming Cena beats Ambrose. At this point, all we really know is that there are a lot of options out there. With stories that Vince McMahon and his writers completely re-wrote Raw 90 minutes before showtime this past week shows that the long term planning in WWE is very poor right now. There are still four more weeks of Raw before Hell in a Cell, so we should get a better idea of their direction in the next week or two.
