Johnny Gargano Says He Has Unfinished Business In WWE
Former NXT Champion Johnny Gargano has at least one major WWE goal in mind...
Johnny Gargano might not be with WWE anymore, but it sounds like the former NXT Champion has unfinished business in the promotion.
The free agent gave this impression during a recent appearance on the Good Karma Wrestling podcast. Even though he departed the market leaders in December 2021, Gargano claims that WrestleMania is still on his bucket list. On top of this, he would love to hold the WWE Intercontinental Championship someday.
Said Gargano (h/t Wrestling Inc.):-
“I never got a chance to wrestle at WrestleMania. That was always something on my bucket list, and it still is on my bucket list … It’s a usual answer for a lot of guys my size and from my era but the Intercontinental Title, especially like the white strap Intercontinental Title that I used to love, that is always something that has been in the back of my mind, as well, that I would love to have one day.”
The 34-year-old left WWE on good terms last December, deciding against renewing his expiring contract while preparing for the birth of his first child. Gargano and wife Candice LeRae (who has since left WWE herself) welcomed their son, Quill, to the world on 17 February 2022.
Although Johnny is yet to return as an active wrestler, he will remain in orbit of the sport through a signing session for Ohio-based indie AIW on 23 July. Beyond this, a WWE comeback may yet be on the horizon.
