Johnny Gargano has named Kenny Omega as one of his dream opponents.
Speaking on his first official Twitch stream, the former NXT wrestler said the following when asked about Omega, whom he described as one of the best wrestlers in the world (h/t Wrestling Headlines):-
“I think Kenny is one of, if not the, best wrestler in the world currently. So, I know that’s a dream match for a lot of people, me and Kenny, and it’s a dream match for me, too. So, who knows what can happen one day."
Gargano vs. Omega technically became possible last week, when Johnny officially became a free agent following the expiration of his WWE contract. That his deal elapsed and he wasn't released by the promotion means he isn't bound to a non-compete clause - and can therefore appear for other promotions immediately.
But he'll have to wait a while to get his hands on Kenny, who is expected to be out of action until some point in 2022. The former AEW World Champion recently took time off from company television to deal with a smorgasbord of injuries and health issues.
Gargano, 34, left WWE as one of the most decorated wrestlers in NXT history. His next move in wrestling is yet to be determined, though his wife, Candice LeRae, is due to give birth to their first child in February.
