Jon Moxley Returning To AEW Very Soon?
The former World Champion could soon be brawling his way back to AEW TV...
Jon Moxley's return to All Elite Wrestling could be imminent.
Following Game Changer Wrestling's announcement that Moxley will defend his GCW World Title against Homicide on 23 January, Dave Meltzer writes in the Figure Four Online/Wrestling Observer Daily Update that "there is no way Moxley's first appearances won't be on AEW television" following his recent absence.
This would suggest Mox could be back in AEW sometime in the next couple of weeks.
Meltzer continued, adding that if the Homicide bout goes ahead, he can't imagine AEW president Tony Khan sanctioning GCW's announcement without Mox returning to AEW television.
Moxley has been out of wrestling since early November, when it was announced that he was entering an inpatient alcohol treatment program. Further status updates have been few and far between since then, though the GCW news suggests that he could potentially be on his way back to the squared circle.
Homicide earned his shot at Moxley's GCW World Title at the promotion's Die For This event on 1 January, winning the company's Do Or Die Rumble match. He will challenge for the belt at the upcoming The Wrld On GCW 2022 show at Hammerstein Ballroom, New York City on 23 January.
