Backstage update on Keith Lee's AEW status after rumours he'd walked out.
Rumours of Keith Lee's AEW demise have been greatly exaggerated.
On Wednesday, Fightful Select put speculation on Lee's AEW status to bed, reporting that contrary to rumours that had emerged over the previous few days, Keith did not walk out of AEW last week.
Fightful notes that there was a miscommunication between the two parties. Lee was supposedly at last week's Dynamite and Rampage tapings, where he was told he wasn't being used for the Wednesday night show. The former NXT Champion then left, as is sometimes the case when wrestlers aren't needed for Dynamite.
The issue was that Lee was needed for Rampage, but wasn't told before he'd departed. Thus, the card had to be adjusted.
Fightful notes that it hadn't heard of any heat between Lee and AEW. Sources have indicated - surprise, surprise! - that the situation was blown out of proportion on social media.
And if Fightful's reporting isn't enough to kill this rumour, Lee was at last night's Dynamite and Collision tapings, wrestling Zicky Dice in a Collision bout that will air this Saturday night. 'The Limitless One' remains with the Tony Khan-helmed AEW.
