Keith Lee Shoots Down Reports Of WWE "Attitude Problems"
When the knives came out for AEW's Keith Lee, the former WWE man no-sold them.
Keith Lee has shot down reports of his alleged "attitude problems" in WWE, telling The New York Post's Joseph Staszewski that he didn't want to give credence to stories that have no truth.
Interviewed ahead of this week's Revolution 2022 pay-per-view, Lee said the following when asked about the matter:-
At the end of the day, man, I’m very much like these old school guys like I really don’t pay attention to the internet like that, and half the time I don’t really pay attention to the apps. Like I may post a thing and someone who helps me with my account may post a thing that’s trying to be positive for other people or promote what I do here in AEW, especially now. I feel like this. If there’s no truth to it then why should I give it any credence? This is going to sound arrogant and I don’t really care. At the end of the day it is beneath me and I treat it as such.
Released by WWE following a dismal main roster run marred by inconsistent booking pre-and-post health issues, Lee signed with AEW almost immediately after becoming a free agent, debuting on the 9 February episode of Dynamite. That win over Isiah Kassidy earned him a spot in Sunday's Face of the Revolution Ladder Match, with the winner receiving a shot at the AEW TNT Title.
The knives came out for Lee following his AEW arrival, as they often do when a wrestler jumps from one promotion to another, with Pro Wrestling Torch's Wade Keller reporting on the matter. In addition to reported WWE problems, Keller alleged that Lee was already rubbing people the wrong way in AEW.
Such stories are an unfortunate product of the increasingly tribal pro wrestling culture war. Fortunately, Lee seems unperturbed by them.
